They now say that 1 in every 2 people will develop cancer in their lives. We hear it regularly on the television, the radio...
Why does it feel so distant? Before being diagnosed cancer doesnt seem like something that would strike. It feels like something that other people get.
50% chance of cancer. Then everything is numbers. 25% chance of treatment failing, 80% chance of nausea. We cling to the positive numbers. 40% chance of 10 year survival. 75% chance of treatment working.
The positive numbers keep increasing every year. Let’s keep trying to look forward towards the positive numbers.
